O Brasil é o país onde mais se mata no mundo, superando muitos países em situação de guerra. Em 2012, 56.000 pessoas foram assassinadas. Destas, 30.000 são jovens entre 15 a 29 anos e, desse total, 77% são negros. A maioria dos homicídios é praticado por armas de fogo, e menos de 8% dos casos chegam a ser julgados.
Mais absurdo que estes números, só a indiferença.
A morte não pode ser o destino de tantos jovens, especialmente quando falamos de jovens negros. As consequências do preconceito e dos estereótipos negativos associados a estes jovens e aos territórios das favelas e das periferias devem ser amplamente debatidas e repudiadas.
O destino de todos os jovens é viver.

Quero que as autoridades brasileiras assegurem aos jovens negros seu direito a uma vida livre de preconceito e de violência. E priorizem políticas públicas integradas de segurança pública, educação, cultura, trabalho, mobilidade urbana, entre outras.
