O cantor, compositor, arranjador e produtor Triston Palmer ou Triston Palma nasceu em 1962, em Waltham Park, Kingston 13, Jamaica. Antes de completar 10 anos de idade já fazia vocais para Sugar Minott e Tony Tuff, bem como com Earl 'China" Smith e sua banda Soul Syndicate. Antes de completar 20 anos de idade Triston teve nove músicas no Top 40 da Jamaica, ao mesmo tempo!

Gravou mais de 30 músicas para Jah Thomas, um par de álbuns para Linval Thompson e algumas faixas para Henry 'Junjo' Lawes.

Gravou e cantou com Sugar Minott no Black Roots Label e no Youth Promotion Sound-System.

Em 1985, Triston gravou a música "Land of Africa" com Freddie McGregor, Gregory Isaacs, Third World, Steel Pulse e Mutabaruka, em beneficio de países africanos assolados pela fome.
