A combinação dinâmica do membro fundador Albert Griffith, os vocais de ligação e as harmonias de Clinton Fearon e do cantor Dallimore Sutherland, fez do Gladiators uma das bandas mais importantes da cena Reggae.

Quando surgiu em 1967 a banda The Gladiators era formada por Albert Griffith, David Webber e Errol Grandison.

Webber foi substituído por Clinton Fearon em 1969 e Grandison por Dallimore Sutherland em 1973.
